Updated erratum: Triceratops is saved
We made the mistake that many other media outlets made in regards to a story about Triceratops and Torosaurus potentially being different growth stages of the same animal. We stated that the genus name Torosaurus would have priority over Triceratops because it would be the adult stage. Not true, Triceratops was named earlier and would remain the name of the dinosaur even if the two dinosaurs (Triceratops and Torosaurus) were found to be the same animal. Thanks to listener Nicole Ridgwell for jumping to the defense of the Triceratops. You can read more about our mistake at our blog.
